THE CIRCULAR JOURNEY OF THE IDENTITY

Abstract

The paper explores the place and significance of the problematization of identity in Serbian literature, the various discursive struggles and attempts to substitute the discourses imagined to be prevailing, with discourses which would, in effect, become prevailing, the path of identity from politics to literature and vice versa, as well as the special maintaining of identity at the points of conflicting ideologies. The different critical approaches to Serbian literature, actually testify to the different ideologies which view their marginal positions as advantageous in relation to the central position where the center is seen as the center-of-lost-values.
