VOJVODINIAN SLOVAK LITERATURE FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS FROM 1999 TO 2010
Main Article Content
Abstract
The 1990’s have so far been the poorest age in children’s literature. There was less poetic creation and more prose writing. The only books significant for this period are two antologies of poetry and prose edited by Miroslav Demak and Zoroslav Spevak. At the beginning of the 21st century children’s literature was renewed by new writers of the young generation who write about the contemporary life of children and young adults, while the writers of the older generation continue with the traditional way of writing. New genres occur, such as the author’s story, drama and young adults’ literature, i.e. girls’ literature. The most productive contemporary writer for young adults is Mária Kotvášová-Jonášová, who touches upon the topics of the contemporary life of adolescents.
