ITALY BETWEEN THE RISORGIMENTO AND FASCISM THROUGH THE FEMALE PRESS
Main Article Content
Abstract
The paper is an overview of the position of women in Italian society in the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth centuries, with particular interest in female journalists in post-Risorgimento Italy. By examining journalistic sources of the period, the choice of subjects, sources and methods of analysis, it will underline the fact that there is not necessarily a purely female journalism, but there is a specific sensitivity and language that is peculiar to the female authors. Furthermore, the elaboration will highlight that already in the post-Risorgimento phase of journalism, a time when the narration of events tended to be in the hands of erudite men, the first female voices appear who were able to create their own space in order to state their personal point of view.
