IVAN V. LALIĆ’S MODERNIZED TERZINE
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper presents the principles of formal organization of the original Italian and international forms of terzina in European literature. This fixed form, though one of the most widespread in European literature, was not widely used in Serbian literature until the late 19th century. Conceived in the last decade of the 19th century, tradition of using terzina in our literature was established at the beginning of the 20th century, with modern poets. Since then, we have often found terzine in our poetry in various forms; poets have written both traditional and modernized forms. In Ivan V. Lalić’s poetry we can observe a stylized terzine but with a noticeable influence of Dante’s original form.
