Abstract

The aim of the article is to study the translations of the poetic works of F. García Lorca published in the form of books over more than 70 years, from the end of the 1940s to the present day. The study is focused from the reception perspective. Using the methodoligical framework of the descriptive translation studies and comparative analysis, we investigate: 1) the evolution of the process and its stages: initial phase, expansion, deepening, advanced phase; 2) the location of poetry in broader contexts, such as the different ways ot receiving in Bulgaria the works of F. García Lorca in general and the cultural and socio-political context in the country in different periods. The conclusions refer to intercultural contact, relations and interaction between the phenomenon of origin and the target environment, the development of reception through translation and the canonization of the author in the Bulgarian paradigm of Spanish literature.
