CONTRASTIVE ANALYSIS OF THE SEMANTICS OF THE PREFIX AUS- AND HIS EQUIVALENTS IN SERBIAN

Abstract

This paper deals with the German prefix aus- and its semantics, compared to the Serbian equivalents. A contrastive analysis, based on a corpus, shows that there are more similarities than differences between the German prefixal aus-verbs and their Serbian equivalents. The aus-verbs have been classified in ten semantic categories. The aim of this paper is to help GFL-students, but also the students of the Germanistic studies, to understand the complex relations between the German and the Serbian.
